Whole Grains

At O’Natra Foods, we acknowledge the importance of Whole Grains and the role it plays in our everyday healthy diet. All our products identified by our signature Whole Grain Logo on all our packaging have an Oatmeal & Whole Grain base as their main ingredients, giving you the high fiber content that your body needs.

Oats contain high levels of dietary fiber, manganese, selenium and magnesium. Studies have shown that a diet high in beta-glucan from oats help to lower blood LDL cholesterol (the bad cholesterol) and helps stabilize blood glucose levels, which may benefit people with diabetes.

Whole Grain seeds (Red Wheat, Brown Rice, Oats, Pearled Barley and Rye) are made up of bran, germ and the endosperm, as opposed to refined grains which solely contain the endosperm. Bran, the protective outer shell of the whole grain contains fiber, B vitamins and minerals. The germ, which nourishes the seed, contains antioxidants, vitamin E & B vitamins. The endosperm, the inner seed, provides energy from carbohydrates. Increased whole grain consumption has been shown to have a number of health benefits such as helping to reduce the risk of heart disease.
